Associate Vice President
Edward (Ted) Svehlik
Ted Svehlik is the associate vice president of Auxiliary and Business Services at West Virginia University. His areas of oversight include but are not limited to Facilities and Services; Planning, Design, Construction and Scheduling; Procurement, Contracting and Payment Services; Sustainability; and Transportation and Parking.
Prior to his current role, Ted was the assistant vice president and chief procurement officer for WVU, where he oversaw the University’s Procurement, Accounts Payable, Travel, Strategic Alliances, Supplier Relationship Management, Business Auxilliary Services Systems and Mailroom teams.
Before joining WVU, he served as a vice president in the Strategic Sourcing and Alliances Department at Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE), where he was responsible for the worldwide sourcing of all marketing, sales, general and administrative goods and services.
Prior to his time at SPE, Ted served as the vice president of Services Sourcing for the global investment bank, Credit Suisse, where he oversaw the company’s outsourcing, staffing and services sourcing teams. He has also worked for the General Counsel of USA Networks, Inc. — the parent company of USA Networks, Sci-Fi Channel, Ticketmaster and other entertainment related companies, where he focused on corporate administration, mergers and acquisitions and other legal matters.
Ted and his partner are active members of the LGBT community and are both movie enthusiasts. Ted also is a foodie who enjoys cooking, baking, hosting events and discovering great restaurants.
